Webinars in March 2025 addressing NSW architects’ regulatory obligations

To help NSW architects meet their professional indemnity insurance obligations under clause 15 of the NSW Architects Code of Professional Conduct, the NSW Architects Registration Board (NSW ARB) is offering 2 free formal CPD webinars focused on insurance, liability and risk management in architectural practice. These webinars are being delivered in collaboration with informed by Planned Cover.

 

Session 1:

How professional indemnity insurance and contracts can manage risks

13 March 2025, 1:00 pm – 2:00pm

Felicity Dixon, Senior Risk Manager at informed by Planned Cover, will address key terms, conditions, and exclusions in professional indemnity insurance policies. The session will also cover essential contract clauses, including requirements under the NSW Architects Code of Professional Conduct 2017, and guidance for managing contractual risk.

  • Understand professional indemnity insurance fundamentals
  • Identify contract clauses that impact risk and professional indemnity coverage

Session 2:

Reducing liability claims and keeping the right records

20 March 2025, 1:00 pm – 2:00pm

Wendy Poulton, a Risk Manager at informed by Planned Cover, will cover common causes of defects and disputes in architectural practice and strategies for minimising liability risks. Key topics include product specification, NCC compliance, cost disputes, and the importance of maintaining accurate records. Case studies will provide practical insights.

  • Understand strategies to minimise liability risks.
  • Strengthen record-keeping practices
