A survey of floating communities around the world. The goal of the project is to help identify different approaches to some of the technical and logistical challenges of building and living on the water and hopefully to inspire new design languages for contemporary floating communities.
This goal of this research project is to complete a simple survey of floating communities and to catalogue some of the most diverse and interesting examples from around the world, to elucidate different approaches to some of the technical and logistical challenges of building and living on the water and to discover some alternative approaches which could be applicable in the design of contemporary floating communities.
